Description:
This course will define what a public health emergency is and familiarize pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with the basic components of public health emergency preparedness and the role pharmacists play in disaster events. This course will cover basic policies and directives related to public health emergencies and review the federal and state resources available, with a specific look at the organizations involved in responding to a public health event in Mississippi. Finally, an overview of the Category A biological agents and their treatment algorithms will be addressed
